Mike and I have been married since November 2002. We have 2 boys, Dallin Michael(10/4/2006) and Gavin Giovanni (1/10/2009), as well as our dog Pika. We currently live in Utah.
Gavin (8.5 months) tagged along with me during Lone Peak's photo shoot in October. Sherry Ward took a couple pics of Gavin along the way.
Justine, one of my sweet sophmore dance co. girls made leaves fall.
Gavin likes to try to eat everything!
Dallin saw a horsie at the pond where we were.
Gavin was the model for when Sherry was testing the light before the girls got their head shots taken. Gavin looks bored then makes funny faces.
This is a low-quality copy from Sherry's website of a pic of Dallin with my dance company presidency. We were in Park City for our beginning of the year retreat, and group pics. The girls are kissing him, but if you look closely, he has a stick and is almost poking one of their eyes out. He is mischievous and loving the attention.
I was able to go and see Mike on Sep 1st (Family Day) and Sep 2nd (Graduation). For Family Day we had to stay on post and Mike was not supposed to hug or kiss, so it was a little awkward. After Graduation he was able to leave Fort Jackson, but he was not allowed to drive. I had to have him back on post before 5am the following day.
This is the B Company in the 2-13 Inf Reg, 2nd Platoon. There are 4 platoons in a Company, Mike the PG of the 2nd plt, so he is the one holding the flag 2nd from the left.
This is the ending procession, and Mike is holding the flag. It was very hard to video and hold a fussy baby Gavin at the same time.
He looked very different. His face was a lot skinnier. He has almost no body fat and has nice definition in his muscles. He did very well at BCT, and was made Platoon Guide, the highest leadership position soldiers in basic can get. He said that his favorite part was doing Victory Forge, where you run missions and clear rooms, etc. I am proud of him and have seen him change a lot for the better already!
I spent most of July with my family in Canada, along with my 2 boys, while Mike was away at basic training. It was so much fun and it was nice to have a little help and a break :)
